The Fuzzy Needle is excited to announce the release of our first editioned print by dear friend and acclaimed artist Joseph O’Neal. James Joyce 1941 is a hand-signed and numbered Photopolymer Intaglio print in an edition of 25. The prints are 8.5” x 11” (22cm x 28cm) and printed in the U.S.A. at Frontline Arts, Branchburg, New Jersey.

Joseph O’Neal’s work prompts an ambiguous field of opportunities by pairing non-objective imagery in conjunction with words, names, and dates. O’Neal’s work reflects an in-between state of expressionism, and a surface stained by the relationship between ambiguity and memory. In James Joyce 1941, scribed black marks and lines within dual organic shapes bring awareness and urgency to the spaces between text and form, suggesting textual interpretation from a place beyond verbal or written language.
